Paras works with you to develop a sustainable E&P strategy for your business. The development of this strategy follows our tried and tested ‘Define ~ Develop ~ Deliver’ staged process. The E&P Strategy needs to be developed to be in alignment with the Corporate Strategy. The Business Objectives and Business Plans need to be aligned with the resulting E&P Strategy.
The Define stage is started by gaining an understanding the historical and current E&P business strategies, if they exist. This is done by undertaking interviews with key managers. This approach ensures buy in from the top of the company and ensures that the critical areas of the E&P Strategy are addressed first.
It is essential to the efficiency of the Define stage, that the consultants have a good understanding of the E&P business so that managers and staff do not feel they are teaching the consultants about the industry. At the end of the Define Stage the overall plan for developing the strategy is in place together with cost and time estimates. Consideration needs to be given to which business areas are to receive most attention.
The Develop stage follows a 6 sub-stage process which delivers the strategy and a plan for its implementation. The 6 sub-stages are:
1. Initialise – deliver an action plan, a detailed interview plan and work blocks
2. Requirements gathering – detailed interviews of managers and workers to understand the requirements as a whole.
3. Taking the business requirements and converting them into a plan for delivering the E&P Strategy required.
4. E&P organisation - includes analysis of relationships between HQ & other offices.
5. Roadmap – high level plans of what needs to be achieved in each area and how this will be achieved. Overall timeline and costs
6. Start marketing the strategy and plans
The delivery stage involves the following:
Set up the organisation – make roles and responsibilities clear
Publicise and roll-out strategy
Monitor strategy compliance
Re-assess the strategy on a regular basis (annual)
