KM - Knowledge Management

Knowledge Management is the least tangible of the Data Management disciplines.  It is vital to ensure that knowledge is not lost when personnel leave the company, for whatever reason.  Technology can help with this, but as with all information management, it is the smallest piece of the pie – by far the biggest portion is the people, and their attitudes and behaviours.

Define

Paras has wide experience in bringing people together to share and develop corporate knowledge.  We appreciate that there are different methods of sharing knowledge – it can be done within a function, across functions, or any other logical segment.  We will look at the specific needs and objectives of your company, and advise the most appropriate way forward in developing a sustainable knowledge management solution.

Develop

We encourage and can help with development and implementation of Communities of Practices, to enable knowledge sharing - particularly of tacit knowledge – through appropriately defined methods and tools of communication.  This will include effective processes and moderation, with training if needed.  Additionally we will look at other working practices, and make recommendations on building knowledge sharing into normal procedures – for example post action reviews.  These typically look at what was planned, what actually happened, where were the differences and what can be learned.  We will help your company to initiate knowledge sharing in all personal objectives, with tangible rewards to personnel.

Deliver

Knowledge Management should be seen as an essential part of all working practices, within a flourishing E&P organisation.  Paras can help you to ensure that vital data is not lost, and that it can provide tangible business value.
