Mike Larsen is a Managing Consultant with Paras Consulting. He is an experienced management consultant with extensive business process improvement and IT system implementation experience in the upstream Oil and Gas Industry. His experience ranges from helping oil companies improve their exploration performance to managing the specification and implementation of major petrotechnical software systems. Before Joining Paras Consulting Mike worked as a Managing Consultant for Schlumberger Business Consulting.

His project experience includes:

• Facilitation of the transfer of a major offshore asset into West African NOC
• Exploration process improvement and best practice sharing across select business units of a very large multi-national Oil Company
• Review of the corporate planning processes of the UK Business Unit of a US Major making recommendations for improvements leading to the detailing of a project to implement a portfolio management system
• Post-merger process and technology alignment (100 plan) for large Canadian Oil Company to ensure smooth transition
• Exploration performance improvement of a mid-sized Independent Oil Company, including a 5 year look back at exploration activity and the subsequent implementation of a system designed and developed to assist the company manage its portfolio of investment opportunities and to track future E & P performance
• A multi-client study designed to review the available decision support and portfolio management software tools within, and outside of, the oil and gas industry on behalf of six clients
• Assisting an affiliate of a large French Gas company with the specification, tendering and selection of a 3rd party application (ASP) and data hosting system for their UK affiliate
• The specification, tendering and implementation of a major data management system for a large National Oil Company
• A project designed to assist a mid-sized Independent Oil company to implement information management policies and procedures at a global and corporate level
• Performed a full IT effectiveness review of ME State Oil Subsidiary, resulting in change initiatives to revise the organisation’s use and management of IT
